The New Year is a beautifully poignant time to find refuge and renewal in the practices of awareness, kindness and wisdom. Join us for a long weekend retreat, meeting yourself just as you are, renewing any intentions for the coming year, and strengthening your practice through connection with yourself, each other, and the natural world.
Drawing on the teachings of the Buddha and held in the peaceful space of noble silence, our practices will include lovingkindness (metta) and mindfulness meditation, the gentle movement practice of qigong, small group practice discussions, daily dharma talks, and time for personal relaxation.
Whispertree Retreat is located about 2.5 hours north of San Francisco and about 3.5 hours south of Eureka in the Anderson Valley, an area within the Navarro River Watershed – a pristine, sheltered valley surrounded by verdant rolling hills.
A variety of elegantly appointed accommodations are available at Whispertree Retreat. Whether staying in the Toll House, Creekside Cottage, Barn or Bunk House, all spaces include generous living areas, kitchens, and gardens. Each is designed with attention to aesthetic beauty and connection to the land.
Choose from private single, double or multi-person bedrooms. Some rooms have private bathrooms, all others offer shared bathrooms. Choose your lodging preference with registration.
Each day our catered vegetarian meals will be nutritious, varied and carefully designed to support contemplative retreat practice. There are kitchens in each accommodation that you're welcome to use anytime if you'd like to bring any favorite items.
Everyone is welcome to attend this intimate retreat, both beginning and seasoned practitioners. The group will be limited to 15 people.
