    A Daylong Introduction to Mindfulness

Come enjoy a daylong introductory exploration of mindfulness, lovingkindness and compassion. With endless cultural references to mindfulness, we’ll unpack what this really means from both Buddhist and secular perspectives, and how it applies to our everyday lives.

The beauty and accessibility of mindfulness practice is that it does not require us to be a this or a that, or believe in anything in order to belong. Rather, cultivating mindful awareness helps us manage our lives just as they are right now exactly as we are in this moment.

Our day will include meditation, yoga, group interaction and the practice of mindful eating with a beautiful vegan lunch offered by Kelly O’Roke of Om Shala.

She encourages her students to explore and honor the uniqueness of the present moment with curiosity and compassion. Emily invites you to take a pause from your busy life, quiet the thinking mind, soothe the nervous system and wake up the feeling, sensing body.
