Sangha Live Day of Practice

As we tune into what is going on in the world right now, it can feel a little more treacherous every day. And yet – here we are. Coming back to practice. Coming back to each other. Choosing, again and again, the path of hope.

Now is the time to strengthen the heart, fortify the effort, and clarify the mind for the well-being of ourselves, each other, and the more-than-human world.

This is the path of the Bodhisattva – the one who commits every day to doing more good and less harm, meeting suffering patiently and compassionately, yet with perspective and courage – the one who gets up every day, meets the world as it is, and begins again.

Heidi Bourne has been teaching on this topic for decades, and her approach is refreshing: no idealism or pretense that it’s easy, just a clear-eyed view of practice as it actually is – difficult, imperfect, and a powerful driver of positive change.

As Thich Nhat Hanh reminded us: every moment is a moment to make peace with the world.

Heidi’s Day of Practice will include a live dharma talk, silent meditation, breakout rooms to support connections with each other, and options for journaling or other personal contemplative practices. Join us to explore:

  • Finding kinship in difficulty, and letting it open the heart toward others
  • Developing steadiness as a ground to return to, not a wall to hide behind
  • Discovering patience as something that relaxes rather than endures
  • Renewing the commitment to kindness as a daily choice, even on the hard days
  • Finding your own version of “begin again” – and the courage to keep living it

Day of Practice is offered on a sliding scale basis (suggested: $35). No one turned away for lack of funds.
