Settle into the natural world and enjoy 6 days and 5 nights at Heartwood Mountain Sanctuary among the green rolling hills of far Northern California. Gathering with a group of women during this time of expanded light and long days, we'll explore what it means to inhabit our lives with confidence, compassion and wisdom.

Heartwood Mountain Sanctuary
Supported by extensive periods of silence, our retreat includes meditation throughout the day, mindful movement, small group practice discussions, and daily dharma talks. There will be ample time for swimming in the gorgeous outdoor pool, enjoying a hot tub or sauna, taking a hike, and space for relaxation and connection.
Heartwood Mountain Sanctuary is located 200 miles north of San Francisco, about an hour's drive outside of the town of Garberville. This beautiful secluded center is tucked into the hills of southern Humboldt County where peace and solitude abound, a perfect place to settle in, unwind, and replenish during the summer solstice.
The Heartwood Lodge Kitchen prepares the freshest farm-to-table fare, grown right on site. The culinary staff creates nourishing menus with seasonal farm fresh produce, merging the best of old world haute cuisine and new world innovation. Our first meal together will be Sunday dinner, and our last meal will be a Friday breakfast. Snacks, tea coffee, and water are available anytime. The chef is happy to reasonably accommodate those with food restrictions.
The newly renovated modern eco-lodging offers outdoor camping, private rooms in common buildings (Manzanita and Madrone) and individual Bungalows that include a ground level living space and an upper level sleeping loft. All lodging utilizes shared bathroom facilities. Choose your lodging preference with registration.
Please note that the terrain at Heartwood is hilly with gravel paths with some gentle stairs. The Bungalows and Manzanita require downhill and uphill walking, and Madrone is relatively flat. All of the residential buildings require about a 10 minute walk to the dining lodge and the meditation temple. For some, walking poles may be helpful.
Everyone is welcome. The Women's Summer Solstice Meditation Retreat is suitable for both beginning and seasoned practitioners. We hope you'll join us!
