Mindfulness & Meditation: Drawing on everyday mindfulness, perspectives from contemplative practice, and the wisdom of the natural world, our retreat includes periods of silence, meditation throughout the day, mindful movement, small group practice discussions, and daily wellness workshops. There will be ample time for swimming in the pond, enjoying a hot tub, taking a hike, and space for relaxation and connection.

Yoga/Movement Classes:Each day there will be a morning yoga class offered for all levels with optional afternoon workshops on a variety of wellness topics and movement practices including Pilates, breathwork and sound healing. We will have an onsite massage therapist offering private treatments as well. Our practice spaces include the gorgeous light-filled yurt, the peaceful outdoor amphitheater, and the expansive indoor barn. Walking from the various lodgings to our meeting spaces requires a 10 – 15 minute walk on a well-maintained trail or a gravel road.

Wellness & Wilderness Medicine:
The curriculum is designed to equip healthcare professionals with comprehensive skills to be mentally, physically and emotionally prepared for providing care in a variety of settings. Topics include understanding and managing environmental influences, learning about strength and endurance training for outdoor adventures, maximizing diet and nutrition for longevity, minimizing stress, building leadership and team building skills and surviving unexpected situations with competence and efficiency. The curriculum aims to enhance healthcare professionals’ personal and professional well-being by providing information and skills that will help them make informed decisions, manage health risks effectively, and be competent leaders. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice, the course will address the core components of resilience and how to prevent physical, mental and emotional exhaustion in stressful or austere situations, ultimately ensuring high standards of patient care and safety in resource limited settings or on outdoor adventures.

The CME course/lecture are an optional addition to this retreat. Partners, friends, solos, and non-medical professionals are welcome to attend at no further cost.
